The first bill for CT scanning just came in to the insurance company, ~7800 USD. 1 more CT scan, 1 CT guided biopsy, 2 pathology reports, oncologist and then 3-4 of surgery and at least 3 days in hospital still to be billed. Anyone want to guess what the final bill for the insurance company will end up at?

That was my guess, too. I suppose I'll guess $55K, just in case there's a free dinner featuring fried tumor for the winner. (^_^)

I figure ~10k/day for the hotel room, $25k to take out that third kidney (bring an empty mayonnaise jar for the souvenir), and then you'll want anesthesia perhaps, so that'll come on top of it. Room service, $75 pairs of advil, pca, and all the other goodies will stack up. remember...ver-sed is your friend :)

And ask the nurses for the food delivery menus that they have at the nurses station in case the gruel they serve you there doesn't sound appealing :)

i think after you throw in pathology on the whole kit and kaboodle by both cpmc and stanford, and possible follow up, you're going to hit six figures.
