So, I want to do this flight one day..
So, I went looking and found it can be ticketed on Singapore Airlines + Varig for 11000 USD in Business (or 10000 in coach, easy choice)...
50 hours in the air, 18+12 + 10 + 10.. fare codes
SQ LAX-SIN ZSQ fare
YY SIN-JNB C fare
RG JNB-LAX C fare
"That's right folks, just ten-thousand, nine-hundred ninety-nine dollars for a couple nice views of Brazil and then 48 hours of OCEAN!"
And a nice view of Mexico!
But this is an interesting challenge, can one find a routing around the world with AS little land coverage as possible! I think it might be possible if you start in New Zealand, but that is so far south it is kind of cheating.

Bring extra batteries.
Such a pretty route. Nice and round!
really? it looks kind of squished to me. This looks like a fun route, but I'd still rather get in my own plane and fly in little tiny circles. Fewer views, more fun.
LAX-SIN-CPT-GRU-LAX would be better, but you cannot fly SIN-CPT direct :(
Why are fewer views more fun?
Because if you make the circles small enough, you get dizzy, and nothing's better than a view upside-down, after all. Remember when you were a kid and hung upside down just to see your house the way it shouldn't be? Galileo was good at that too, and it helped him discover...something. Something about telescopes and mirrors.
All that money to end up right back where you were? I have an idea. Give me $11,000 and I'll hang out with you at SFO for 50 hours.
But then I don't get the frequent flyer miles ;)
Now, I want to do this, but I don't think it is worth $11k
That's one heck of a trip! Sleeping pills will help!
